this is a nicely packed week. subbing isn't so bad when i remind myself that next year i will have a real job. without it, it is unbearable. i try not to worry too much about the fact that Schenectady has started to call in the state police because of all the shots being fired around the neighborhood ...they don't want it filtering into the schools. good times. it is sad to know that i love being in schools with the kids who are rational and quiet in guilderland because someone probably fixed most of them breakfast in the morning and they don't have unexplained scars on their faces or arms. it is too draining to try to help Schenectady some days.
yesterday was jimmy eat world. apparently lots of tween and teen girls love paramore and it was unbearable. i hope that somewhere on the internet there is a video of thousands of screaming and dancing girls and me standing in the middle of their circle with a vacant unibomber expression on my face. those people were nuts. we started out close to front and center but i really could not take it when people started tumbling on top of each other and all falling down because the sides were pushing back and forth, left and right, and rushing the stage in that direction. if they rush forward it's cool and we are all packed like sardines and that is normal. what happened was me and the girl under me and the guy on top of me and this other tween in the next pile over screaming HELP and trying not to get trampled....for PARAMORE!!!?? ugh. jimmy was great. i danced like a maniac and all the more for the tweens who stood there wishing paramore was back on stage. when they closed with THE MIDDLE i felt like an insecure teen at heart. i even got the set list from one of the tech guys. somehow i have a lot of luck when i see live music. a dave grohl pick from foo fighters, a green day pick, and i think i have another set list somewhere. new cameras are adorable and make me happy when the sun shines. i just had my ben and jerrys free cone of the year.
