apparently, today is the first day of spring. the sunshine makes me smile. kurver kreme opened up on st. patrick's day and me and ed walked over to get some coffee/vanilla swirl cones. things are looking up. this was a good week because the kids are off today and i subbed remedial reading which means i got a sweet desk in some comfy remote corner of the school basement where the radio played all day, right under the heater ...and a two hour lunch break.
i forgot how much i loved reading middle school books. they are all action and dialogue and very little exposition. i read stargirl and avi this week and i feel that i got more out of them than i did my 400 level james joyce class. maybe this makes me a bad english major but ill just say im not pretentious. i can't wait to be home for easter. i've applied for a few jobs posted on OLAS for next year. i hope i get health insurance soon because my luck has been good so far without it. i went to krauss,' the homemade candy place down the street, yesterday and today to get easter egg truffles (i didnt buy enough yesterday when i considered how many guests my family was having over) and the lines were out the DOOR with three cashiers. i love wicked dark truffles and i love going up to the counter and saying "wicked dark truffles" and i need to never go there again because they are addictive. a week from tomorrow i'm back at farnsworth subbing and i can't wait to see the kids! Spring might have to be my new favorite season, because i just don't know if my love of fall matches up to the pure hatred i feel towards winter. thus, Spring is the best possible news.
